Carentan Leek: plant is upright with dark green foliage. Plant is a good variety with extra large long stems. Plant stands well through the winter. Plant is a high yielder.
Tolerant to cooler temperatures, the Carentan Leek is both sweet and mild on the tastebuds. Often used in soups and stock.
When: can be planted after the last frost of the season, typically mid to late May or can be planted indoors, 6 to 8 weeks earlier for transplant.
Planting Guide: Sow in well drained fertilized soil, 1/4-1/2" deep under the soil surface, 6" apart, in rows about 20" apart in full sun.
